Who are you

to hold me down,

to make me flee

myself and those I love?

Who are you

to break me,

to steal my dreams –

speak it – what’s your name?

Solitude?

Or despair, is it?

Regret or impermanence?

I can only laugh.

To think that you can be the end,

of my spirit or my road.

Call yourself whatever you desire,

there’s no dread I’ll bow to – ever.
